Ink cartridges are segregated into two types –Thermal and Piezoelectric. The first one uses a metal chip that heats up on the passage of small electric current. Piezoelectric ink cartridge functions on piezoelectric crystal that prints the ink on the paper by changing its shape and size according to the requirement. This type of ink cartridge is less efficient than its thermal counterpart.
